COURSE DESCRIPTION
The overall objective of the training activity is to develop professional skills to detect and investigate criminal cases while using investigation methods and techniques.This criminal investigation course will introduce the trainee to the scientific processes, best practices and intellectual thinking of criminal investigations. The course will also cover the fundamental procedures of intelligence and types of law enforcement intelligence analysis. The course will emphasize, through active discussion, group exercises, and speakers, the importance of, and the challenges in, the development of the investigation function within law enforcement units.
LEARNING OUTCOMES
Upon successful completion of this course, the trainee will be able to:
- know the basics of manpower management & financial management of a police station
- learn more on Dress Rules and welfare of Police
- know the positive attitude necessary for professional life
- learn about personal hygiene, food habit, good practices and positive thinking to life for sound health both physically & psychologically
- deal with media & public intelligently in proper language & gesture
- learn to coordinate with different stakeholders
- identify common mistakes in investigation & ways to overcome those
- learnmodern techniques of investigation including Interview and Interrogation Technique&investigate emerging crimes
- explain the purpose of the intelligence process and to know the practices of Intelligence-led policing
- explain the elements necessary to establish a Criminal Intelligence Analysis Unit
COURSE METHODOLOGY
Trainees will be provided with the materials, theories, educational foundation, and a development plan which will allow them to better succeed in their endeavors. They will be expected to engage in interactive discussions, presentations, and practical exercises as a part of this course. Other class activities include class discussion and participation, student presentations, small group activities, case studies, and practical exercises.
